Tesla has finally delivered its Cybertruck pickups to customers, albeit two years later than scheduled. CEO Elon Musk showcased the electric trucks at an event in Texas, highlighting its unique design and promising that “the future will look like the future.” However, with Ford, GM, and Ram truck maker Stellantis all having introduced their own electric trucks, Tesla faces competition in the highly profitable U.S. auto market. Musk acknowledged the challenges faced in manufacturing the Cybertruck, including the use of a hard-to-bend stainless steel alloy for the body, and suggested that significant positive cash flow from the truck would take 8 months to a year to achieve. Tesla’s website currently lists prices for the Cybertruck starting at $60,990 for a rear-wheel-drive version.
