Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) aims to acquire Juniper Networks for $14 billion, marking its biggest acquisition since the company split from Hewlett-Packard almost a decade ago. HPE’s CEO, Antonio Neri, sees this move as a strategic step towards regaining a leading position in the enterprise tech market, which was disrupted by cloud computing. Neri aspires for HPE to become the fourth major cloud provider, and the purchase of Juniper, a networking gear manufacturer, brings HPE closer to that goal. The acquisition also strengthens HPE’s presence in the IT gear market, competing against industry leader Cisco.
